Buhari hits CNN, BBC on Lekki EndSARS alleged killings

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday berated the reports of the CNN and BBC on the EndSARS protests at Lekki tollgate which claimed that the army killed some protesters.

The president wondered how the reports didn’t capture scores of policemen killed on duty as well as police stations razed down alongside other unlawful activities carried out.

“It must be said that foreign press coverage of the ENDSARS violence was not balanced, especially from CNN and BBC. I was disgusted by the coverage, which did not give attention to the policemen that were killed, the stations that were burnt, and prisons that were opened”, President Buhari remarked.

Many others have also criticized CNN reports on the alleged intimidation and brutal killings of civilians, and challenged the foreign media reporters to show the figures and identities of the deceased massacred innocent protesters.
