International community lauds Nigeria’s ES-Plan, Osinbajo says

THE international community comprising of the governments of the United States of America, United Kingdom and the European Union (EU) have commended Nigeria on its Economic Sustainability Plan put in place to strengthen the economy following the blows from coronavirus pandemic all over the world.

Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) in his statement after a virtual meeting with stakeholders across the world on Thursday said that federal government’s initiatives and responses to the economic crisis received an applause from the international community, and with a pledge for necessary support towards its successful implementations.

In the post-meeting remarks, the Vice President was appreciative on the credit the Economic Sustainability Plan of the federal government received.

“Thank you to the international community for meeting with me and commending President Muhammadu Buhari’s Economic Sustainability Plan. It is the administration’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The international community made of representatives of governments (US, UK and the EU) as well as representatives of agencies and organizations (UN, DFID, UNDP, World Bank and IMF) pledged their support to assist with the implementation of the Economic Sustainability Plan. Together, Nigeria will prevail”, Osinbajo remarked.
