Edo 2020: Obaseki receives ultimate dose from party

HIGH hopes of the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki to contest the forthcoming Edo governorship election under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have finally hit the brick wall.

The APC Appeal Committee on Saturday affirmed the disqualification of the embattled governor as resolved by the Screening Committee on Friday which disqualified Obaseki and two others from participating in the governorship election.

According to report, the National Working Committee (NWC) has upheld the position of the Screening Committee and Appeal Committee.

However, the NWC also announced the expulsion of one of the aspirants disqualified by the panels, Matthew Iduoriyekenwen citing breach of relevant sections of the APC Constitution.

The announcement was made by APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole after the NWC meeting.
