US: Mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey demand justice against Police brutal killing of black man

MAYOR of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey has condemned the brutal killing of a black man, George Floyd and called for arrest of Derek Chauvin, the police officer that perpetrated the unlawful action.

The social crusader who is also an Attorney said that the manner Floyd was killed as an animal demands for explanations by the perpetrator.

“If most people, particularly people of color, had done what a police officer did late Monday, they’d already be behind bars. That’s why today I’m calling on Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman to charge the arresting officer in this case.

“There are precedents and protocols sitting in the reserves of institutions like this one that will give you about a thousand reasons not to do something. To not speak out. To not move so quickly.

“But we can’t turn a blind eye. George Floyd deserves justice. The Black community deserves justice. His friends and family deserve Justice.

“Being a black man in America should not be a death sentence. This man’s life matters. He was someone’s son”, Jacob Frey stated.

A report had shown Derek Chauvin, a 19-year veteran of the Minneapolis police department, kneeling on 46-year-old Floyd’s neck for nine minutes as he pleaded for his life. Floyd died following the encounter.

According to report, the FBI and state agencies in Minnesota have launched separate investigations. Four officers, including Chauvin, have been fired.

Devastated by the incident, the Mayor has questioned why the culprits are still not in jail as the case would be if a black man had perpetrated the wicked act against the Whites.

“Why is the man who killed George Floyd not in jail?” Minneapolis’ Mayor, Jacob Frey, asked as he called for charges on Wednesday.
