IEDPU Commiserates With Prof Amuda-Kannike On Mother’s Demise

The National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman has commiserated with a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Dean, Faculty of Law, Kwara State University, Malete, Prof. Abiodun Amuda-Kannike, SAN, on the death of his beloved mother, Alhaja Salamat Asabi, who died yesterday at the age of 85.

In a statement signed by the Union’s National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Imam on Saturday, the group’s President described the death of Alhaja Salamat as a painful loss not only to the renowned legal practitioner and his family but also to the entire people of Ilorin Emirate and the nation at large.

The IEDPU President noted the numerous contributions of the deceased towards the peace and progress of Ilorin Emirate over the years, saying that the raising of her children and wards to the level they are was a commendable effort that would continue to be appreciated.

Alhaji Uthman enjoined Prof. Amuda-Kannike and his siblings to accept the transition of their mother as an act of Allah, saying that every soul is bound to die. He added that the deceased was blessed in all ramifications evident in her family and made her to be survived by successful children in different vocations including a reputable Professor of law who is also a learned silk, amongst others.

The IEDPU President also urged Prof.Amuda-Kannike and other members of his family and associates to take consolation in the fact that the deceased lived a very fruitful life in the services of Allah and humanity.

While the statement wished the learned Senior Advocate and his siblings the fortitude to bear the demise of their beloved mother, it prayed Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and reward her with Al-Janah Fridous.

The deceased matriarch was buried on Saturday in line with Islamic rites while the Fidau prayers will hold at 10am on Wednesday 30 June, 2021 in Ilorin. END!
