The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have suspended the proposed nationwide strike which was billed to kick off on Monday, (today) after reaching an agreement with the Federal Government.
This was disclosed by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo who stressed that the agreement reached between the Federal Government and the Labour Unions okays deregulation while federal government will roll out palliatives for workers.
The details of the palliatives, the minister said would be made known in the next two weeks. By the development, all workers are expected to be on their duty post as usual as the proposed strike has been called off.
Keyamo also revealed the electricity tariffs has been suspended by government for 2 weeks with a joint Committee headed by him to examine the justification for the new policy.
