Buhari grants 1-year Tax waiver on prepaid meters

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday granted a one-year tax-waiver to support the service providers in procurement of prepaid meters to customers.

This was disclosed by Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bahir Ahmad.

“In line with the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting reforms in the electricity industry, and the implementation of NERC’s Meter Asset Provider (MAP) scheme, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a one-year waiver of Import Levy on electricity meters”, Presidential media aide disclosed.
