The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has announced extension of its churches in Lagos and Ogun states stating they will remain closed in spite of the federal and state government’s approval for worship centres to reopen.
The church stated this in a release on Friday signed by the chairman, MFM Media Committee, Pastor Oladele Bank-Olemoh adding that the General Overseer of the church, Dr. Daniel Olukoya approved the extension on account of critical reasons.
The statement said the church is considering to reopen in the two states on September 13 to enable them put in place all the preventive measures as directed by the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC and Presidential Task Force on Covid-19.
“The leadership of this ministry is aware that the governments of Lagos and Ogun states had announced that churches could resume worship in their physical church buildings as from August 9 and 16, 2020, respectively,” the statement read.
“However, the leadership of MFM hereby states as follows: MFM will not reopen all her regions, zones, branches and facilities in Lagos and Ogun states for now. This period would be utilised to put in place all the necessary COVID-19 preventive and safety protocols as stipulated by the Federal Government, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and state governments”, it stated.
