Youth group lauds Ize-Iyamu’s manifesto, vows to sack Obaseki

Two major contenders in Edo-2020, Osagie Ize-Iyamu (APC) and Godwin Obaseki (PDP)

A youth-based organisation, the Deciding Youths of Nigeria, has lauded the campaign manifesto of the All Progressives Congress’ (APC’s) governorship candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu describing it as a thoughtful blueprint on youth empowerment and creation of jobs.

The group, led by its leaders, Osagie Efe and John Steve, at a meeting with Pastor Ize-Iyamu at his home in Benin, noted that the manifesto tagged SIMPLE agenda contained policy plans and efforts to create opportunities for youths, and consequently, promised to mobilise other youths to ensure his win at the poll.

“A study of the SIMPLE agenda, which is available on the candidate’s website and has been a subject of a conversational online live stream programme on his social media pages, attracted us to Pastor Ize-Iyamu.

“We will collaborate with other youth groups in Edo State to galvanise other young voters and ensure the emergence of Pastor Ize-Iyamu at the polls on September 19”, the group leader stated.

Responding, Ise-Iyamu assured the group that his interest is to change the face of the state with good governance adding that the people cannot be subjected to pity amid plenty due to bad leadership.

He asked them to mark his words that Edo people will be rescued from the effects of bad leadership in his administration if they would come out en masse to vote out the incumbent government from the Government House on September 19.

Osagie Ize-Iyamu is a Nigerian Pastor, former Chief of Staff and Secretary to the Edo state government. He was the gubernatorial candidate of the Edo state People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2016 Edo state gubernatorial election. He is currently a member and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
