Donald Trump on mask: Picture of the year – 2020
PRESIDENT of the United States of America, Donald Trump was yesterday spotted in the States wearing facemask he hitherto criticized and tagged WHO (World Health Organisation) irrational.
The US president wore the mask while visiting a military hospital in Washington where he met injured service personnel and health workers taking care of coronavirus patients.
The number of Coronavirus deaths in the country at the moment stood at over 134,000 with number of confirmed cases on increase on daily basis.
The pandemic reached the US in March, and has infected more than 3.2 million people and killed at least 134,000 – a higher number of deaths than in any other country.
But, despite health officials recommending face coverings as a way of limiting the spread of the Covid-19, Trump has previously refused to wear them at public events.
Sometime ago, Trump on his social media handle made fun of his Democratic presidential rival Joe Biden for wearing a mask.
He has acknowledged that a mask should be worn if people are close together indoors but he has accused reporters of wearing them to be politically correct.
