LAGOS: Sanwo-Olu halts planned reopening of churches, mosques

LAGOS State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has suspended the planned reopening of worship centres following the rising confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the state.

Sanwo-Olu disclosed this on Tuesday in a press briefing and stressed that reopening of churches, mosques at the moment will not be in the interest of the people citing the rapid increase in deaths on complications of the virus.

The governor had on June 4 lifted the lockdown on churches and mosques though with guidelines but scheduled that mosques and churches can reopen to begin services on June 19 and 21 respectively.
