Shehu Sani carpets FG, kicks against tribalism in national appointments

FORMER Senator that represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, Shehu Sani has called on the federal government to ensure that all sections of the country are equally represented in its appointments.

The activist who is also the President of the Human Rights Congress of Nigeria made the remarks a moment ago stating that as a central government that leads all ethnic groups that made up the country, that it is ideal for appointments to reflect equality as a way of giving all the ethnic groups a sense of belonging.

“As a Federal Republic, our complex diversity must be reflected in national appointments to give all sections of the country a sense of belonging, and to preserve the union. Whenever the centre unfairly tilts, it unsettles the balance of the foundation upon which the structure rests”, Sani said.
