A television and radio broadcast conglomerate transmitting from Yola, Adamawa State capital, Gotel Communication owned by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar on Workers’ Day handed dismissal letters to 46 members of its staff.
The sack letter which was signed by the General Manager, Mohammed El-Yakub stated that the management has decided to discontinue your services with immediate effect however with entitlements accordingly.
“The management has decided to discontinue your services with immediate effect.
“Consequently, please be informed that your entitlements including stipend lieu of the notice will be computed and posted into your account with immediate effect”. It stated.
However, in a reaction, Atiku’s media aide, Paul Ibe, while confirming the sack attributed it to outcome of long-standing company restructuring.
“The rationalization of staff at Gotel Communications Limited, a company under the umbrella of Priam Group, is a culmination of the restructuring process in the companies under our Group.
“The founder of companies under Priam had announced that many of his business concerns would be aggregated under the Priam Group.
“Priam Group had embarked on a restructuring exercise which led to a merger of many companies under its umbrella”, Yakubu stated.
