THE President of the United States of America, Donald Trump has described the critics that fervently rebuffed his proposal for the use of bleach and disinfectants for the treatment of Corona virus as detractors.
The US President, in an address to his advisor, Dr. Deborah Birx, recommended some strange therapy for the treatment of the deadly Corona virus codenamed Covid-19. The statement has continued to generate heated controversies beyond the United States but across the world as health experts distanced themselves from the suggestion.
The major opposition in the US, the Democrats didn’t hide it voice as it vehemently condemned Trump’s statements on Covid-19 even without consulting health experts which it described as reckless and leadership deficiency. The Party further accused President Trump of tagging Covid-19 as ‘hoax’.
Reacting, President Trump said he was quoted out of context as he directed it to the Democrats and media, and not to the pandemic.
“I never said the pandemic was a Hoax! Who would say such a thing? I said the Do-Nothing Democrats, together with their Mainstream Media partners, are the Hoax. They have been called out and embarrassed on this, even admitting they were wrong, but continue to spread the lie!
“The Do-Nothing Democrats are spending much of their money on Fake Ads. I never said that the Corona Virus is a “Hoax”. I said the Democrats, and the way they lied about it, area Hoax. Also, it did start with “one person from China”, and then grew, and will be a “Miracle” end!
Trump had, at a news conference on Thursday, suggested using powerful cleaning agents, through an injection, as a possible COVID-19 cure.
“I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it (the virus) out in a minute — one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs”, President Trump said.
However, Dr. Deborah Birx largely defended Trump’s statement that injecting disinfectants could treat coronavirus, saying that it ‘bothers’ her that the conflict is still in the news cycle claiming that President Trump was merely ‘musing’ on the subject.
Nonetheless, it must be noted that President Trump may have unconsciously taken up the job of his media aides alongside health agencies and its officials in the US that are under obligations to formerly give the people updates and information on the dreadful Coronavirus pandemic.
The US President has directly, continuously engaged the public by tweets and other media outlets for updates and directives even without consultations with the appropriate quarters.
To prevent calamities over the ‘musing’ statement, the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has cautioned the public against consuming bleach or other disinfectants as proffered by United States President, Trump.
The agency in a statement had on Sunday rebuffed the proposal stating that it is not backed by any scientific theory and therefore cautioned citizens not to attempt it in their best interests.
“It is important to note that bleach and other disinfectants should be used to clean surfaces. They should not be consumed by people to treat COVID-19. Drinking bleach and disinfectants can lead to health complications and even death”. NCDC cautioned.
