THE heir to British throne, Prince Charles has described the death of Abba Kyari, the former Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari as “a desperately sad news” and consoled the President, government and people of Nigeria over the great loss.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity) Garba Shehu, made this known in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to the Presidential Spokesman, Prince Charles regretted that the death of Mallam Kyari had occurred through this “pernicious virus…” and untimely when his services to President Buhari and the government are much needed.
“I can only begin to imagine what an immense gap Mr. Kyari’s untimely death will leave in Your Excellency’s life and my heart goes to you and Mr. Kyari’s family”, Prince Charles remarked.
Similarly, President Paul Kagame, through the Embassy of Rwanda in Abuja, extended the heart-felt condolences of the government and people of Rwanda to President Buhari on the death of his Chief of Staff who died of Coronavirus.
President Kagame also expressed solidarity to the government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria over the Covid-19 crisis which is giving many countries severe worries.
Also in the list of prominent citizens that identified with President Buhari over the death of Abba Kyari lately include the former Vice President, Architect Namadi Sambo who described the death of Abba Kyari as a “monumental national loss.”
Others are Industry leader and businessman, Abdulsamad Rabi’u; Emir of Gazargamu, Ahmad Tijjani Ibn Saleh from Yobe State; the Secretariat of the Developing D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation headquarters in Ankara, Turkey; retired Ambassador Jibrin Chinade; and Alhaji (Dr) Adamu Abubakar Maje, the Emir of Hadejia, Jigawa State.
Former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Emeka Nwogu and a former Managing Director of the Guardian Newspapers, Eluem Emeka Izeze, also sent condolence messages to the President.
