Reference Scripture: Matthew 5:13-16 KJV
[13] Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. [14] Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. [15] Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. [16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
God has sent us as light in the world. Why? Because the world is in darkness. Shinning is the purpose of light. A city set on a hill that cannot be hidden is what we are. Shinning as light is our Heavenly calling and destiny. Our light should come to full blast as the world gets darker. Make sure you don’t dim your light for no reason. If your light is not shinning brighter and brighter something is not very right. When your light is expected to move from shinning to burning, don’t disappoint Jesus. The expectancy of God is that people will through our lifestyle come to Him. People that come in contact with us should be able to have the mark of our light registered in their hearts.
The world is brought into darkness by sin. As light we are to make the difference. Don’t choose to dim your light by joining the world to live like them. Jesus our perfect example never did that. Darkness hides, light manifests. You can see the thick darkness covering the world by the day and God is calling you to arise and shine. If your light is not bringing people to Christ, something is wrong. The world, your family, your environment, all need your light to live right and not stumble into hellfire.
There was this video of a woman who allegedly left her three children in the room with candle light at night. She was said to have sneaked out to go and meet her sin partner this passed valentine night at a hotel while the husband was away from home. The candle burn the three children to death. The last one of these children was a two months old baby. As their burnt corpses were displayed before the house which was burnt down too, people gathered and were wailing. Is the today’s Church become like this woman? Three minutes madness in adultery have left this woman with indelible mark. The world is in darkness, seeing sin as fun. The consequences are everywhere. Will you not please shine your light?
No matter how dark the darkness is light over powers it. Arise dear child of God! You are to present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God. A salt-less salt is not only good for nothing but an insult to Heaven. Whatever you do with God must be seasoned with salt. We are to preserve souls for God as preservatives through our lives and messages. Beloved, there are those who might never read or own any Bible in their entire lifetime. But you are the only epistle they will have opportunity to read. No matter the things used to cook food, without salt it is malaria medicine. Why be a salt men trample upon because you have lost your saltiness?
Jesus prayed for us not to be taken out of the world but to be kept away from evil. The reason is clear. Without you shinning as light or being the salt you are called to be, the world will be in double jeopardy. You see corruption all over the world and this corruption is entering into the churches, taking over pulpits. Why not shine your light? Why not escape the contamination everywhere and stand out for the Kingdom of God?
Being light and salt is a covenant with God you must never break. Light expels darkness, if not, it is not light. Light do not cover sin or evil, it exposes it for good. Light will always manifest. Dearly beloved, let us shine Jesus the Light to this perishing world before it is too late. Blessings shall be your portion in this land of the living, today and always. TODAY is my BIRTHDAY.
