Covid-19: Army vows to discipline erring soldiers, sets up complaint office

The Nigerian Army has set up a complaint helpdesk for the public to report abnormal and professional conducts of its personnel in the course of Covid-19 assignments across the country.

The release by the Army Headquarters directed members of the public to send short message service or through Whatsapp to the provided numbers with exact location, time, date and pictures of the incident to the help-desks assuring that it would leave no stones unturned to bring the erring soldiers to book to face the consequences of their actions.

The development followed numerous complaints from the public over maltreatment of soldiers in many locations under the lock-down policy by the federal government particularly in Delta state where a citizen, Mr. Joseph Pessu was allegedly killed by its personnel on Thursday at Ugbuwangue community in Warri South Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
