Covid-19: Buhari addresses the nation

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation on the dreadful epidemic, Coronavirus which has put the nation in a dilemma for a couple of weeks at 7pm on Sunday (today).

This was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu a moment ago stating that Mr. President will acquaint the nation on the challenges and action plans of the federal government.

The Presidential spokesperson urged all television, radio and other electronic media outlets to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast.

It will be recalled that President Buhari on Saturday received report from the Hon Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire and the Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu at the State House.

Earlier, the opposition parties had criticized the President for not addressing the nation over the spread of the deadly virus with a rapid increase in the number of confirmed cases in the country. However, the Presidential aides assured that the President having setup a special taskforce to tackle the predicament will do the needful at the appropriate time.
