Covid-19: As confirmed cases doubles speedily, these directives become paramount

As at 11.55pm on Friday 27 march, 2020, 81 confirmed cases of coronavirus, according to NCDC have been recorded with 3 persons discharged, and one (1) death.

For breakdown of cases by states in Nigeria,

Lagos – 52

FCT – 14

Ogun – 3

Ekiti – 1

Oyo – 3

Edo – 2

Bauchi – 2

Osun – 1

Rivers – 1

 Enugu – 2

From the reports, 11 new cases were recorded; 8 in Lagos, 2 in Enugu and 1 in Edo states. The disease causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing. You can protect yourself by washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and avoiding close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) with people who are unwell.


How it spreads

Coronavirus disease spreads primarily through contact with an infected person when they cough or sneeze. It also spreads when a person touches a surface or object that has the virus on it, then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth.
