Ben Bruce and late wife, Evelyn
Former senator and business magnate, Ben Murray-Bruce who lost his beloved wife to cancer on Friday has called on the public to be sensitive over cancer as it is real and deadly adding that early detection and treatment remain the key to survival.
The former senator who eulogized his late wife described her as a true and dependable friend he will dearly miss for a lifetime.
“I’m broken. Just lost my beautiful wife to cancer. She was my best friend for 43 years and my wife for 41 years. Cancer is real, but it shouldn’t be a death sentence – awareness, early detection and treatment are key to survival. I miss her so so much. I’m broken.

“Our children are devastated, I am too. But I have to be strong for them. Please put our family in your prayers. Like the sun, my wife was a blessing and touched the lives of everyone she met. Though she’s gone, she’d remain alive in our hearts forever.
“I miss you, my sweetheart, and my most beautiful girl, Evelyn Murray-Bruce”, Ben Bruce tweeted.
President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the former senator and prayed that God will comfort the senator who represented Bayelsa East in the 8th Senate, and also to the children the deceased left behind alongside the entire family.
Many other dignitaries including Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, Wale Tinubu, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and countless politicians from the ruling and opposition political parties have also identified with the former senator in his trying period.

I pray that in this trying moment in your life that God will grant you and your family the Comfort by His Spirit in your in-man.
Oh dear, accept my condolences. It’s not going to be easy, but God will pull you and the children through. Amen
