THE Anambra State Police Command has alerted the general public of serious riots going on by some rampaging youths suspected to be miscreants in their hundreds holding offensive weapons rioting at Nkpor and New parts general area of Idemili North LGA of Anambra State destroying government properties.
This was contained in a an emergency public announcement on Wednesday by SP Haruna Mohammed, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Anambra State Police Command, advising members of the public who are on essential Services during this lockdown period as well as the general public to keep off the area in order not to be caught in this chaotic situation.
The Police Spokesperson assured that the Police and other law enforcement agencies are however, working assiduously to restore law and order in the affected areas but importantly urged the public to spread the information for safety of others. The public notice reads;
“Be informed that today 15/4/2020 rampaging youths suspected to be miscreants in their hundreds holding offensive weapons are presently Rioting at Nkpor and New parts general area of Idemili North LGA of Anambra State destroying Government properties.
“Consequently, Members of the public who are on essential Services during this lockdown period as well as the general public are strongly advised to keep off the area in order not to be caught in this chaotic situation.
“You are kindly requested to use your medium and disseminate this message please”.
