Oct 1: PMB salutes Deji Fasuan, Tony Iyare on birthday celebrations

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has expressed joy with Development Economist, retired Permanent Secretary, public affairs commentator, and community leader, Chief Deji Fasuan, as he turns 89 October 1, 2020.

Chief Fasuan, Chairman of Committee for Creation of Ekiti State (May 1991-October 1996), was member of the Constituent Assembly representing Ekiti Central, (1988-1989), and holds the National Honour of Member, Order of the Niger (MON).

A statement by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President (Media and Publicity) on Wednesday revealed that the President acknowledges his many decades of service to nation, state, and community, saying that his commitment has not gone unnoticed, and urges the younger generation to garner inspiration from such lofty example.

One of the early set of Nigerians to obtain degrees from Fourah Bay College, Sierra Leone, President Buhari says “Chief Fasuan has lived a life of service, which is well acknowledged and appreciated at different levels of government.”

“May you continue to wax in good health, longer life and prosperity,” the President prays, rejoicing with family, friends and associates of the grand octogenarian, born on a date which eventually became the country’s National Day”.

In similar vein, President Buhari joined family, friends and the media community to celebrate a frontline journalist, Tony Iyare, as he hits the Diamond age of sixty on October 1, 2020.

With more than three decades of reporting, editing, and public commentary tucked into his belt, Iyare also served as Special Adviser on Media to the then Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State.

The President wishes him many more decades of commitment and contribution to the profession he loves so much, praying for long life and prosperity.
