Police rescues 2months baby abandoned in bush

ANAMBRA State Police Command, Tuesday rescued a newborn of about 2months abandoned inside bush by inknown person.

In a statement by the Commissioner of Police through SP Haruna Mohammed, PPRO Anambra State Police Command, a tipoff was given to the Police station at Nnobi by the men of the Vigilante in the area.

“On the 4/8/2020, the Commander Nnokwa Vigilante group in Umueshi Village Nnokwa ,Idemili South LGA of Anambra State reported at Nnobi Police Station, that a baby girl of about 2 months old was abandoned by unknown person inside Nnokwa bush and left crying.

“Following the report, police operatives visited the scene, rescued the baby alive but very sick and rushed her to Chukwu Nonso Hospital for medical attention.

“Meanwhile, the baby is gradually responding to treatment and will be handed over to the Social Welfare for proper care while effort is ongoing to trace the parent in order to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident”, the statement read.

The Command further demands for useful information about the child to report at Nnobi Divisional Police Station or contact PPRO Anambra State Police Command through GSM no 08060970639.
