Buhari, Atiku console Bishop Kukah over mother’s death

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the Most Rev Matthew Hassan Kukah, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, on the passing of his mother, Madam Janet Hauwa Kukah aged 88.

Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President, (Media & Publicity) while disclosing this in a statement added that the President was saddened over the death, and also commiserated with members of the family of Kukah, praying almighty God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.

In similar vein, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar this evening took to his social media handle to send his condolences to Bishop Matthew Kukah on the passage of his mum.

The former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also prayed for fortitude to the revered Cleric and the entire family to bear the loss as well as for the soul of the departed to rest in peace.

“My deepest condolences, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah on the loss of your beloved mother, Mrs. Janet Abashen Hauwa Kukah. There’s no loss like the loss of a mother. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. May her soul rest in peace”, Atiku stated.
