COVID lockdown: Go back to duty posts, FG orders all workers

The Federal Government has directed all civil servants still under the Covid lockdown which began since March to resume work at their respective duty posts on Monday 19 October.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) who is also Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF- on COVID-19), Boss Mustapha, issued the directive at the press briefing of the task force on Thursday.

Mustapha said the directive was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari as the nation further relaxes the restrictions in the third phase of its COVID-19 response.

Before now, only civil servants on Salary Grade Level 12 and above as well as those on essential duties had been going to work.

The PTF’s directive implies that all civil servants including those below SGL 12 will now resume work from Monday, October 19.
