Anambra Police announces a found girl-child, searches for close-relatives

THE Anambra State Police Command on Tuesday found a girl of about 9 years old who gave her name as Chinaza Jideofor believed to have come from Oka village, Uga in Aguata LGA of the state.

SP Haruna Mohammed, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Anambra State Police Command, made the disclosure in a public notice assuring that the girl is safe and sound in a protective custody accordingly.

The statement revealed that the girl was brought to Umuchu Police Station by a good citizen as the child couldn’t trace her way back to the house. However, it was noted that the girl kept mentioning Aunty Chioma repeatedly.

The Police appealed to the general public to disseminate the information to enable it locate the parents or close relatives of the found child for handover. Thus, forward the post in all platforms and all contacts.

The statement reads;

“On the 30/6/2020 at about 3:pm a good Samaritan brought to Umuchu Police Station a female child of about 9 years old who simply gave her name as Chinaza Jedeofor believed to have come from Oka village, Uga in Aguata LGA of Anambra State. She is 3 feet tall, dark in complexion and speaks only Igbo language fluently.

“The girl could neither find her way back home nor state where she hails from. Instead, she keep on mentioning one Aunty Chioma repeatedly. She is presently in the protective care of the Umuchu Divisional Anti human trafficking unit pending identification of her parent or guardian.

“In view of the foregoing, you are kindly requested to disseminate this massage through your medium to enable the biological parents or close relatives identify her.

“Anyone with useful information about the found child should report at Umuchu Divisional Police Station or contact PPRO Anambra State Police Command  through GSM no 08060970639,  please”, he stated.
